Summary: Client and ex-husband had a tumultuous history with the ex-husband as an abuser. Client was attempting to discuss her daughter’s substance abuse issues with the ex-husband who wasn’t receptive to the conversation. Client threw an empty beer can towards the ex in order to get his attention. Unfortunately, the ex was hit by the empty can and used that as an opportunity and pretense to call the police and complain of an assault.
Result: Client agreed to file the case for $500.00 and dismiss the case after 12 months. Client was relieved to get this charge resolved in her favor.
